Personal Care Coordinator

We currently have the following career opportunity in our Personal Care Department:

Personal Care Coordinator, Full Time, (2:45pm – 11:15pm) – 2 openings

Seeking high energy individuals with solid direct primary care skills, a strong work ethic, a spirit of compassion, caring, respect and teamwork, and a positive attitude, to provide care for our residents.

Responsibilities: To provide direct primary care for the resident, as assigned by the charge nurse, in a safe, confident, effective and timely manner, while utilizing physical, psychological and social techniques, under the supervision of a charge nurse/Director of Personal Care.  Respond to call bells in a timely manner, providing or obtaining assistance required, assess the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed, participate in care planning, and observe health safety procedures.  Will work within the EMT scope of practice, in accordance with DHS regulations for Personal Care. Will serve as a resource for and provide guidance to CNA’s, in absence of charge nurse.

Required: Graduate from accredited program of Emergency Medical Technicians; must hold current PA certification, as well as CPR certification.  Must have medications administration training and can pass the medication technician course.  Need to have respect for the capabilities and individuality of elderly residents, compassion, initiative and integrity.  Good organizational skills and interpersonal skills, including openness and fairness in communication.  Must possess the ability to maintain an even temperament in demanding situations, show good leadership skills, particularly in an emergency situation. Computer knowledge, required.
