We currently have the following position open in our Fitness and Wellness Department:
Director of Fitness & Wellness (8:30am-5:00pm) – Execute a Wellness approach in directing the planning, promotion and implementation of activities and services appropriate to the physical needs of our residents and staff. The emphasis of a wellness approach is on the seven dimensions of wellness, including: physical, emotional, mental, environmental, spiritual, social, and occupational wellness. The Director is responsible for residential and employee wellness programs. This includes but is not limited to: wellness activities, coordination and planning of special events, supporting Meadowood’s business goals, and contributing to Meadowood’s positive reputation as an employer of choice in the larger community.
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in related field, 2 years’ experience working with a geriatric population, and demonstrated management skills. Certifications or ability to attain certifications in Pool Operator, Personal Training, Fall Proof, Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and others as may be needed for the fitness program. Ability to design and/or teach fitness classes, as needed. Strong communications/interpersonal skills for daily interactions with residents, family members, peers and external constituencies. A safety mindset, problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, strong organizational and planning skills. Basic knowledge of skeletal and muscle biomechanics, knowledge of fitness needs for special population, basic lifting skills, and communications skills with senior citizens. Knowledge of budgeting and projections for future needs of the organization.
